We had empty roads and great weather. Normally when I think of Scotland I just think of cold rainy weather, the complete opposite of what we had on day 3.<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0904copy.jpg\" title=\"0904\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Not a soul for miles it seems<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nAfter passing through <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/9G5L5X\">Inverness<\/a>, we headed back down south a bit to Loch Ness, in hope of catching a glance of the famed Loch Ness Monster (do you remember <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/cawBhp\">The Family Ness<\/a> cartoon?).<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/cawBhp\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0905copy.jpg\" title=\"0905\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Welcome to Loch Ness<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nThe Loch itself is a lot bigger than I&#8217;d anticipated, but it was good to drive along side it.<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0906copy.jpg\" title=\"0906\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sebastian hanging out by a waterfall that flows into the Loch<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0907copy.jpg\" title=\"0907\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Is that a monster in the lake? Nah, it was just a boat.<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nAs I expected Loch Ness contained a lot of tourist attractions. History of the Loch, information on expeditions, a very interesting set of toilets, free parking, and even something for the pets.<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0908copy.jpg\" title=\"0908\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nessy gives Rover a drink<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0909copy.jpg\" title=\"0909\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">An early (yellow) submarine<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nAnd of course, we found him.<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0910copy.jpg\" title=\"0910\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sebastian meets Nessy, the Loch Ness Monster<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nI think the reason so many people fail to find him is that he&#8217;s actually no longer living in the main lake, but a smaller lake right next to Loch Ness (and right next to a gift shop, coincidentally).<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0911copy.jpg\" title=\"0911\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sebastian finds a mini version of nearby Urquhart Castle<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nWe left the beautiful Loch Ness and headed North. Far North. In fact, we went all the way north!<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i56.photobucket.com\/albums\/g179\/mr_darlington\/Road%20Trip\/Photo0912copy.jpg\" title=\"0912\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sunset at Dunnet Head<\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nWe went right up to Dunnet Head, the most northern point of mainland Britain (though many think John O Groats holds that honour). It was quite late so we didn&#8217;t really see much, so after having a look at the nearby lighthouse we headed to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.syha.org.uk\/hostels\/highlands\/john_ogroats.aspx\">John O Groats Youth Hostel<\/a>, where we were to stay the night. Coincidentally, we met another Japanese traveller.<br \/>\n<figure style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"\"
